How to scan documents with your phone (and get a clean PDF)
Get scanner-quality PDFs from your phone camera: light, angle, edges and clean-up. No app needed — works in the browser.
Light and background
Place the paper on a dark, plain surface (a table or a dark cloth) so the edges stand out. Use daylight or a bright room light from above, and keep your own shadow off the page.
Hold the phone straight
Keep the phone parallel to the paper and fit the whole page in the frame. Small tilts are fixed automatically — ClerkCam finds the four corners and straightens the page.
Scan many pages quickly
- Open Scan to PDF and allow the camera.
- Take a photo of each page — the camera stays on for the next one.
- Tap any page to fix its corners or change the clean-up.
- Press Done: the PDF is made and downloaded straight away.
Which clean-up to choose
Auto makes the paper white and the ink darker while keeping colour (good for certificates with stamps). Black & white gives the smallest file and is best for typed letters. Grayscale is a safe middle. Original keeps the photo as it is.
Make it searchable
A scan is a picture of text. Run OCR PDF on it to make the words selectable and searchable with Ctrl+F — in English and Hindi.
